Local Resources
Indio Senior Center
Offers a wide variety of activities for older adults, including ping pong, Spanish classes, pickleball, Zumba, and many other social and wellness programs designed to help older adults stay active and connected.
Cooling and Warming Center The center also operates a where older adults can go during periods of extreme heat or cold for a safe and comfortable place to spend time.
The center also serves hot lunches Monday through Friday at 12:00 p.m. Adults ages 60 and older are encouraged to contribute a suggested donation of $3, or whatever they can comfortably afford.
The Indio Senior Center has partnered with the Mizell Senior Center and the Riverside County Office on Aging to help provide freshly prepared meals to eligible older adults through a Meals on Wheels program.
Meals are delivered daily and can be reheated in a microwave or oven. The program is available to adults age 60 and older who are homebound due to illness, disability, or isolation. Services may be provided on either a temporary or permanent basis depending on the individual’s needs.

Intergenerational Program Another unique program is the Intergenerational Program, which brings older adults and teens together for fun activities such as thrifting, playing lotería, and building meaningful social connections across generations. You may contact the senior center:

Indian Wells Healthy Living Resource Center
Offers free health and wellness programs designed to help older adults stay active, informed, and connected.
Services include fitness and arthritis classes, nutrition counseling, educational lectures, health screenings, Medicare counseling, support group resources, and access to a comprehensive Healthy Seniors Resource Guide for desert residents.

Affordable In-Home Care And Caregiver Services In Indio, CA
