According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2015–2019 American Community Survey, 27.4% of Banning's population was aged 65 and over, totaling approximately 8,526 individuals.

 

More recent estimates from Neilsberg Research indicate that 28.53% of Banning's population falls into this age group, numbering around 8,753 senior

Programs For Older Adults

Senior Service

The City of Banning Parks and Recreation Department, Senior Services Division is responsible for the operation of the Banning Senior Center, Senior Special Events, Senior Community Programs & Classes, connection to needed senior services and more.

Area Agency On Aging

The Riverside County Office on Aging (OOA) is authorized by the Older Americans Act and the Older Californians Act to serve as the local Area Agency on Aging for Riverside County.

 

They are charged with developing a system of care that offers safety net services for vulnerable older persons and adults with disabilities. 

 

This includes nutrition assistance, utility & rental assistance, home repairs & furniture, and housing stabilization.

Senior Nutrition Program 

Serves a hot meal for seniors Monday - Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. Delivery service is also available to home-bound seniors. There is a suggested donation of $3 per meal.
